Greetings from VKMfanHuey!!!
Welcome to the Gingerology blog for the 1965 Kay Lewis Enterprises film, The Confession!!!
Ginger plays the role of Madame Rinaldi, the um... well... "boss lady" of an... um... well... "entertainment establishment"... and who has one of her "employees" (Barbara Eden as Pia) finding herself in a "delicate condition". However, with the unintentional assistance of Mario Forni (played by Ray Miland), Pia believes she has been witness to a miracle, and that all will be well... as a result, the entire town is "transformed", except for Mario and the Madame, who are too busy digging up gold and dodging the law...
Please note the 'menu' above, which has various information regarding the film; to the right (just below the Gingerology link) there are additional links regarding the film.
Please feel free to leave a comment with any general info, links, pics, or just to say hi!
...And be sure to check out our 'main' site, Gingerology - just click on the Ginger pic to the right. There you'll find a list of ALL of Ginger Rogers' films; click on any one, and you will be directed to a 'dedicated' blog about that film (not unlike this blog).

...the film itself? eh, after seeing it for the 3rd or 4th time, it's not THAT bad... there are some weird sequences here and there, but overall it's watchable... Ginger, Barbara, and Ray Miland do well enough to make it... watchable.
Um... here's the real ones:
...and then there's the 48 minute mark, where Ginger...ascends a flight of stairs... um... there's no way I can describe it adequately, and if I tried, there would probably be dire consequences from at least a few different parties... but let's just say, if asked, "Hey, what's your favorite six seconds of this film?" the 48:14 to 48:20 frames would be a GRAND candidate... um...the pic below is the 48:51 mark, approximately 30 or so seconds from the 'stair ascension' sequence... um, is it OK for me, as Lead Gingerologist, and Eternal Cabana Boy in Perpetuity, to say that Ginger has a BODACIOUS figure at the time this film was produced??? Well, I'm saying regardless, y'all...
OK - well, as to the FILM...the plot of this one is not extremely bad, as Pia believes she was spoken to by the town statue of Saint Joseph, which TOTALLY changes her outlook on life... and rubs off on the whole town. The weird thing towards the end is when Mario (Ray Miland) leaves a note for Pia explaining he was the one speaking to her from behind the statue... um...WHY would he do that? He and Ginger were skipping town anyway, so why not leave the town in ignorant bliss? Oh well... all's well that wends well... um, sorry if I 'gave away' anything here... but it's a pretty straightforward plot with a very predictable end...
Thanks for stopping by!
